Chapter 13:  First Rasoi


The first rays of the morning sun were shy intruders, tiptoeing through the intricate jaalis of the balcony, weaving patterns of liquid gold across the marble floor and over the silken bedsheets. The world outside was still hushed, holding its breath, but inside the sanctuary of their room, a new world had already begun.

Eraya stirred, a soft sigh escaping her lips as consciousness gently pulled her from the depths of a peaceful, dreamless sleep. Her body was warm, cocooned in a sense of security she hadn't expected to find. As her lashes fluttered open, blurry with sleep, they focused on a sight that made her breath catch.
